How it Started

The Rigdon's had first added a shop and then later constructed a garage. The addition of the garage significantly changed the elevation of the area between the house and the garage.

It also resulted in a muddy area between the house and the garage that needed to be addressed to make it ausable space.

The Design

The design that we brought to Barb showcased 3 levels that would all flowed into each other to make their space usable and add curb appeal to their home.

This project did arrive with some challenges as it was a narrow build which impacted our normal process in order to be able to work with all the transitions. There was no room for error with this design and it required perfect grades and pours at every point of the project!

The Process

Like all our projects we started with the perfect foundation built to last.

We did a ton of compacting to make sure that this layered look never moved!

We had to build from the back of the yard out based on the space we had so it took multiple-precision pours to make sure that all of the 3 elevations matched up perfectly! There was no room for error in this project and we are happy to report that every measurement paid off and all of the levels came together beautifully.

The Process From Start To Finish In Photos

In the end, we were able to create a beautiful dining area with a unique Unilock patio design. We have a single step down into that grill area from their home.

We were also able to create an entrance and walkway to the front door without having to add excessive plant beds in the process.

The final design consisted of 3 levels and a movable firepit so they have the flexibility to utilize their front yard or back yard for entertaining.
