The Story

This project was a home that needed a more functional front entryway and to bring some fresh design to their front yard to increase curb appeal.

The existing front walkway was a small path that had settled over the years, creating a large step up to the front of the house.

The goals of this project were:

  • A more inviting front walkway
  • A more manageable front step
  • Clean up around the mailbox
  • Create a flowerbed around the utility boxes

Read on to see how we created a unique design that was functional but also saved them work shoveling snow in the winter!

How it Started

The original design of the front walkway made it a bit of tight turn from the driveway to the front porch and created a large step up.

We were able to redesign that front walkway and bring in unique Unilock designs to uplevel this yard.

The Process

We redid all the plant beds and started fresh with new plants, new edging, and mulch. We specifically brought in low-maintenance plants to keep this yard as low upkeep as possible.

We also redesigned the walkway to the front of the house to make it more inviting and to truly change the feel of this front yard.

The Final Result

We used dark pavers to help with curb appeal and snowmelt. Now they will have little need for ice melt in the winter and will keep their walkway safer!

We also gave them more room for snow removal by moving the sidewalk from it's original location.

Overall, this new Unilock walkaway really upgraded the whole feel of their front yard. The addition of the new edging in their plant beds and fresh plants really transformed this yard and took it to the next level!
