The Story

This project which we call the Whitetail road project started when they were looking for a fresh feel to their front and back yard. They wanted to update their landscaping and to create a true outdoor living space that they could enjoy for years to come. Their landscaping, though beautiful at one time, had become overgrown and dated.

This is a two-phase project to completely update their outdoor living space and make it usable again! We have completed phase one - the front yard - and will be finishing the second phase soon!

The goals of this project were:

  • Create a new walkway to the front door that was more usable
  • Incorporate a fire feature to bring the yard together
  • Low voltage lighting to finish the look of the yard
  • Move the walkway away from the garage to invite people down the walkway

We couldn't wait to get started and to really let our creativity shine in this project!

Started with the front yard with adding a new unilock designed walkway with a fire feature to bring the yard together.

Low voltage lighting to create the right feel to the yard and bring the right lighting to the yard and walkway.

We can't wait for phase 2 to finish the outdoor living space outback and really take this to the next level.

How it Started

The front yard consisted of some overgrown bushes that had exceeded their space and a simple concrete walkway.

The walkway to their front door was never used by guests due to the placement of the walkway so near to the garage door.

We made some critical changes to the design to encourage guests to use the front walkway going forward.

The Digital Design

This was the digital design that we brought to them and they loved everything we had created!

A central fire feature and unique Unilock walkway will invite guests to use this walkway and the front of this house.

The central fire feature will be a place to stop for casual conversation and transform this space into an outdoor living space!

The Process

We knew we wanted to move the placement of the walkway and move it away from the garage.

This will encourage people to actually use the front walkway.

We also included low voltage lighting to highlight their yard at night and to allow for people to safely travel this walkway at night.
